South Valley Services offers weekly support groups and adult classes in English and Spanish, including a self-esteem group. Isolation is a major tactic of domestic abuse, and many report a sense of relief to know that they are not alone on their journey.
DV 101
Class Description
This presentation covers the basics of domestic violence and the resources offered by South Valley Services. It begins by talking about the foundations of domestic violence and national and local statistics and then covers how SVS helps survivors and finishes with talking about what individuals can do to get help for themselves or someone they know. This training is designed for any community groups, businesses, and service providers who work with survivors of Domestic Violence who are interested in learning more about Domestic Violence and how they can help survivors.
How to Attend
This training can be tailored to a specific audience, and can be given in English or Spanish, virtually or in person. The presentation usually requires 60 minutes, but it can take up to 90 minutes.

Teen Dating Violence Program (TDVP)
Class Description
TDVP is based upon the Safe Dates curriculum (evidence-based and approved by the Utah Department of Health). The presentation is approximately 60-90 minutes, but it can be shortened depending upon the need. The presentation as updated in 2020, is designed to be interactive and encourage discussion. It covers definition of dating violence and types of abuse, local and national statistics, an interactive video presentation and discussion, what SVS does to help survivors, and other resources for help.
How to Attend
The presentation can also be adjusted based upon the audience, and can be presented in both English and Spanish. There is a presentation for Junior High age and High School age youth.

The Healthy Relationships Program (HRP)
Class Description
HRP is an eight week course in English and Spanish; each week a different subject is taught based upon the Safe Dates curriculum (evidence-based and approved by the Utah Department of Health) and the Clinical Interns programming. Participants do not have to be in an unhealthy relationship to attend; all community members are welcome.

Financial Empowerment (FEP)
Class Description
FEP seeks to educate survivors of domestic violence about money management and assist them in becoming more financially stable. There are four modules that cover financial abuse, budgeting, credit basics, loans, and savings/investment in English. These classes are available for shelter clients.
Survivor Workshop
Survivors Workshop
This program is created for an audience of DV survivors. It reviews basics of Domestic Violence with the goal of helping survivors understand their trauma better, and teaches about available resources for survivors provided by SVS. It is presented in a team with the PED Director, Clinical Director, and CRC Director when possible. *This presentation can be triggering for recent survivors of Domestic Violence.*
